About KAAHE (King Abdullah Arabic Health Encyclopedia)

Establishment and establishment

The Internet is being used as a source of medical and health information on a large scale by millions of people around the world. A recent scientific study in Saudi Arabia showed that only a small number of Arab health sites achieve international quality standards for health sites. This means that Arab users of the internet will not always succeed in finding reliable health information in Arabic, and may be victims of misinformation presented in forums and social networking sites.

The project was presented to His Majesty the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, who was known for his support of humanitarian and scientific projects. The project was approved and announced during the Saudi Health Conference in May 2011. Prof. Majid Al-Tuwaijri, Scientific Agent of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. The Encyclopedia was officially launched on 11 March 2012 during the Saudi e-Health Conference in Riyadh.

KAAHE aims to be the first website to provide reliable health information in Arabic.

Mission:

Providing reliable health information to the Arab reader in an easy and simple way to increase health awareness and support the efforts of various health facilities in promoting the health of citizens.

Audience:

KAAHE addresses Arab readers, health care professionals, and students of health colleges. Healthcare providers are also able to use the encyclopedia to enhance their contact with patients. The encyclopedia includes educational materials in the fields of medicine, diet enhancement, healthy lifestyles and various treatments, as well as medical news and events. It also provides many interactive educational services in an engaging and easy to use way.

Administration and Management:

KAAHE is administrated and financed by Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNGHA) and King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS).

KAAHE follows the Executive Regulations of the Electronic Publishing Activity issued by the Ministry of Media of Saudi Arabia. A copy of this law may be accessed on: https://www.media.gov.sa.
